Chadley is a digital artist dedicated to exploring the intricate relationship between humanity and technology. With a degree in Art and Design from California State University, Los Angeles, and further studies in Computer Graphics and User Experience Design at UCLA, she merges artistic vision with technical expertise. Chadley believes AI is the only appropriate medium for investigating the human dignity found within AI’s algorithms because it draws from centuries of artistic hands. Formal training in life drawing and printmaking informs her approach.
By employing organic line drawings, limited color palettes, and high-resolution renderings, Chadley aims to magnify human dignity through AI’s algorithms. She seeks to inspire meaningful dialogue about the human experience amid rapid technological advancements, aligning her approach with contemporary discussions on ethical AI and the importance of human-centered values.
Chadley’s oversized digital art has gained international recognition, notably being displayed at the British Museum during an exhibit honoring a significant historical figure. This achievement validates her artistic vision and highlights the technical skill required to guide AI in expressing contemporary concerns. Her work challenges viewers to critically examine how historical artistic traditions influence our understanding of human identity and the ethical implications of AI’s societal impacts, particularly as technology challenges our values and relationships to one another.
In an era where AI influences everything from personal privacy to employment, her art serves as a catalyst for discussions on accountability, representation, and ethical responsibilities. By prompting reflection on these issues, Chadley’s work honors our artistic heritage while advocating for a technological evolution that aligns with human dignity.
Chadley’s current project, Protego Dignitas, explores the future by examining technology’s impact on human interaction, privacy, and quality of life. She highlights the urgent need for discussions around AI’s ethical implications in daily life, emphasizing that technology can either enhance or undermine human dignity. By inviting viewers to reflect on these critical issues, she fosters a deeper understanding of how technology could shape our identities, relationships, and communities.
The Protego Dignitas project challenges us to consider what it truly means to be human in a digital age. More importantly, it asks us to ponder and then seek ways to protect human dignity in an increasingly technological world.
